An Analysis of Getting Over It.
The game is developed using 3-D graphics, however, it is not particularly multidimensional in terms of gameplay.
It basically involves the player, through an avatar, trying to climb to the top of a steep mountain, using only a Yosemite hammer and precision.
The game is more of a solo game.
Gameplay and Graphics.
The graphics of the game, though 3-D, is rather simple. The aim is primarily to climb a steep mountain, and as such, there is less necessity for complex graphics.
The game has less music and more of tunes, as well as philosophical commentaries that relates to the player’s situation; maybe when the player just passes a very difficult area, or where the player drops to death.
In any case, all of it altogether is calming. It also makes the game more captivating and more interesting.
The gameplay of Getting Over It gives the player a defined task – which is getting to the top of the steep mountain with the tools provided. The tool in question is a Yosemite hammer.
As the player progresses in the climb of the mountain, the game becomes more difficult. At the initial stages of the game, there are checkpoints.
However, as the game progresses and becomes more difficult, the checkpoints become longer to reach, and at some point, the checkpoints ceases to exist.
Upon getting to the top of the mountain, the game becomes concluded.
Again, the major aim of the game is to get to the top of the mountain. In doing this, it is important to study the game and find means of always maintaining balance, so as to climb, and also so as not to fall.
Precision is also important, as to how well the hammer connects to a part of the mountain will determine how well the next climb will go.
Download Getting Over It Mod Version
The Mod version for Getting Over It makes the game better playable, more interesting, and even easier.
Some of the things the Mod version gives over the original version include:
- Teleporting feature.
- Gravity control; amongst other things.
While the Mod version of some games makes the game unbearably easy and somewhat irritating, this is not the case for Getting Over It. Rather, the Mod version makes it more likable and easier to play.
